The Subtle, the All-Aware: A Logical Proof in Surah Al-Mulk

26 November 2026

A reflection on Surah Al-Mulk 67:14 - the simple but powerful argument that the One who created us cannot fail to know us.

Surah Al-Mulk answers, in a single short ayah, an objection that quietly persists in many hearts: does Allah (SWT) really know what I am going through?

An Argument From First Principles

Allah (SWT) says:

أَلَا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ خَلَقَ وَهُوَ ٱللَّطِيفُ ٱلْخَبِيرُ
"Does He who created not know,1 while He is the Subtle, the Aware?" (Surah Al-Mulk 67:14)

The logic is simple and complete: it is impossible that the Creator could be unaware of the nature of His own creation. Allah's knowledge follows naturally and necessarily from His being the One who made us.

Complaining to the One Who Knows Best

We encourage our students, especially during a difficult stretch in their studies or their personal lives, to bring their weaknesses and struggles directly to Allah (SWT) rather than carrying them silently. No one understands a struggle better than the One who created the person struggling.

May Allah (SWT), the Subtle, the All-Aware, ease every difficulty that only He fully understands. Ameen.
