Introduction
Darus Saulieghien Quraan Academy (DSQA) strives to create a nurturing and respectful learning environment rooted in the teachings of the Qurโan and Sunnah. Our goal is to help students grow in both faith and academics, developing into responsible and ethical members of the community. This Code of Conduct outlines the expected behavior and values that guide our academy.
1. Respect and Character
- Respect for Others: Students must treat teachers, peers, staff, and visitors with respect and kindness. Disrespectful or aggressive behavior is strictly prohibited.
- Good Manners and Speech: Students should use polite and respectful language. Foul or harmful speech, including gossip or backbiting, will not be tolerated.
- Islamic Etiquette: Students should embody Islamic values of honesty, humility, and respect, both inside and outside the academy.
2. Dress Code and Modesty
- Adherence to Islamic Attire: Boys should wear there DSQA uniform at all times, and cover their heads with a fez and white turban. Girls must wear their DSQA uniform, hijab and modest clothing suitable for Salah.
- Uniform Policy: Students are expected to comply with DSQAโs uniform requirements. Non-compliance may result in parents being called to bring appropriate clothing.
- Neat Appearance: All students must maintain a clean and neat appearance. Clothing should be free from brand logos, and hair must be groomed according to Islamic guidelines. No faders or ear-rings, rings, bracelets and jewellery is allowed.
3. Academic Responsibilities
- Punctuality and Attendance: Students should arrive on time for all classes and events. Absences must be communicated with a valid reason.
- Homework and Effort: Complete assignments diligently and take academic responsibilities seriously. Cheating and plagiarism will be subject to disciplinary action.
- Active Participation: Engage actively in class and strive to excel in both religious and academic subjects.
4. Conduct During Madrassah Hours
- Classroom Behavior: Pay attention, participate respectfully, and avoid any disruptions. Raising hands before speaking is encouraged.
- Behavior During Breaks: Use break time for rest and play, engaging in activities that reflect Islamic principles. Rough play or fighting is not allowed.
- Respect for Madrasah Property: Students must respect and care for all madrassah property. Damaging or vandalizing property may lead to penalties.
5. Technology and Device Usage
- No Unauthorized Devices: Students may not bring mobile phones or tablets unless authorized. Devices brought for educational purposes must be used responsibly and only under supervision.
- Digital Conduct: Inappropriate online behavior, including cyberbullying or accessing harmful content, will be treated as a serious offense.
- Parental Monitoring: Parents should actively monitor their childโs device usage and ensure adherence to DSQAโs digital safety guidelines.
6. Parental Responsibilities
- Support and Communication: Parents must support their childโs learning journey and be actively involved in academic and behavioral matters. Attend all mandatory meetings and maintain open communication with staff.
- Technology Management: Implement and enforce DSQAโs technology guidelines at home, ensuring proper use of devices.
- Positive Reinforcement: Encourage your children to speak positively about the academy and resolve issues respectfully through appropriate channels.
7. Disciplinary Actions
- Addressing Misbehavior: Minor infractions will receive verbal or written warnings. Repeated or serious offenses may lead to suspension or expulsion.
- Reporting Issues: Misconduct or bullying should be reported to teachers or administration immediately. Major concerns will be handled with confidentiality and appropriate consequences.
8. Community Involvement
- Uplifting Our Environment: Students and families are encouraged to contribute positively to our madrasah community and support initiatives that align with our values.
- Volunteer and Participation: Opportunities to volunteer and engage in madrassah projects will be provided, reinforcing the bond between families and DSQA.
