Surah Al-Mulk continues its theme of unseen accountability, moving from private fear of Allah (SWT) to something even more intimate - private speech and hidden intention.
What Is Concealed Is Still Known
Allah (SWT) says:
وَأَسِرُّوا۟ قَوْلَكُمْ أَوِ ٱجْهَرُوا۟ بِهِۦٓ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ
"And conceal your speech or publicize it; indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts." (Surah Al-Mulk 67:13)
This ayah responds to those who once whispered among themselves, assuming Allah (SWT) would not hear. Nothing escapes His knowledge, whether spoken quietly or held only in the chest.
Purity of Intention, Even Unspoken
We remind our students that keeping intentions pure is not only about outward speech, but about what stays unspoken too. This awareness is meant to cultivate humility rather than anxiety - a believer who knows they are fully known by Allah (SWT) learns to speak, and think, with more care.
