A reflection on Surah Al-Mulk 67:24 - how being spread across the earth today does not mean escaping the gathering to come.
People live scattered across continents, cities, and generations, seemingly disconnected from one another. Surah Al-Mulk reminds us that this scattering is not the end of the story. At Darus Saulieghien Quraan Academy, we try to keep this bigger picture present alongside the daily details of school life.
Spread Out, But Not Forgotten
قُلْ هُوَ ٱلَّذِى ذَرَأَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ ٢٤
"Say, 'It is He who has multiplied you throughout the earth, and to Him you will be gathered.'" (Surah Al-Mulk 67:24)
Allah (SWT) is the One who spread humankind across the earth, and He is equally the One to whom every person will be gathered again. No distance, no separation of time or place, removes anyone from that eventual return.
Living With the End in View
It is easy to live as though this life is the whole picture, disconnected from any final accounting. This ayah corrects that view directly: the scattering across the earth today ends in a gathering before Allah (SWT).
We encourage our students to hold onto this perspective as they grow, that the effort placed into character, worship, and knowledge now is effort placed toward a day when everyone returns to the same Lord.
May Allah (SWT) make the day of our gathering before Him a day of ease and honour for our students and their families. Ameen.
