Hearts Open Only When Allah Opens Them

17 September 2026

Surah An-Nasr 110:2 - guidance belongs to Allah alone, and why that matters when effort doesn't seem to be working.

Surah An-Nasr describes people entering Islam in crowds, a transformation no amount of human effort alone could produce. At Darus Saulieghien Quraan Academy we remind our students of this whenever they feel discouraged that a lesson, a reminder, or an effort to do good does not seem to be landing.

Guidance Belongs to Him

وَرَأَيْتَ ٱلنَّاسَ يَدْخُلُونَ فِى دِينِ ٱللَّهِ أَفْوَاجًا
"And you see the people entering into the religion of Allah in multitudes." (Surah An-Nasr 110:2)

Allah (SWT) tells even His Prophet (SAW) directly: "You surely cannot guide whoever you like, but it is Allah Who guides whoever He wills." (Surah Al-Qasas 28:56) The Prophet (SAW) described this further: "Indeed, the hearts of the children of Adam are all between two fingers of the Most Merciful like one heart. He turns them wherever He wills." (Sahih Muslim 2655)

What This Frees a Teacher and Student From

We remind our teachers and students alike that their responsibility is the effort, the sincere teaching, the consistent revision, the good example, and the outcome belongs entirely to Allah (SWT). What once seemed impossible for a heart to accept can shift entirely when Allah (SWT) wills it, in ways no one can predict.

May Allah (SWT) open the hearts of our students, and every heart around them, to guidance. Ameen.
