He Is Allah, One

14 September 2026

Surah Al-Ikhlas 112:1 - the clearest declaration of Allah's oneness, and what it means for a heart pulled in many directions.

Surah Al-Ikhlas opens with the clearest statement of Tawhid in the Qur'an: Allah (SWT) is One. At Darus Saulieghien Quraan Academy we ask our students what this actually changes in daily life, beyond being a fact to memorise.

One, Without Division

قُلْ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ
"Say, 'He is Allah, [who is] One.'" (Surah Al-Ikhlas 112:1)

Ahad describes a oneness that admits no division, no partner, no equal in any sense. Allah (SWT) reaffirms this elsewhere: "Your God is only One God. There is no god worthy of worship except Him, the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful." (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:163)

A Gathered Heart

Tawhid is not only a belief about Allah (SWT), it is a way of gathering the heart around one ultimate purpose. A student pulled between many worries, marks, friendships, family, comparison, can find in this ayah a return point: one Lord, one direction, one place worship and reliance both belong.

May Allah (SWT) unite our students' hearts around Him alone, undivided by the many worries of this world. Ameen.
