Closing Surah An-Nasr - understood by scholars as a farewell surah, and what it asks every believer to carry forward.
Surah An-Nasr is understood by many scholars as a quiet farewell, a sign to the Prophet (SAW) that his mission was complete and his time in this world drawing to a close. At Darus Saulieghien Quraan Academy we close our reflection on this surah with what it ultimately calls every believer to do.
A Mission Handed Forward
إِذَا جَآءَ نَصْرُ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلْفَتْحُ وَرَأَيْتَ ٱلنَّاسَ يَدْخُلُونَ فِى دِينِ ٱللَّهِ أَفْوَاجًا فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَٱسْتَغْفِرْهُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ تَوَّابًۢا
"When the victory of Allah has come and the conquest, and you see the people entering into the religion of Allah in multitudes, then exalt [Him] with praise of your Lord and ask forgiveness of Him. Indeed, He is ever Accepting of Repentance." (Surah An-Nasr 110:1-3)
"Muhammad is no more than a messenger; many messengers passed away before him." (Surah Al-Imran 3:144) The mission did not end with him, it was handed to every believer who came after. It is reported that the Prophet (SAW) increased in saying: "Subhanallahi wa bihamdih, astaghfirullaha wa atubu ilayh." (Sahih Muslim 484)
What Our Students Carry Forward
We remind our students that honouring the Prophet's (SAW) legacy means holding firmly to the guidance he delivered, not merely admiring it from a distance. Every ayah they memorise is part of that guidance being carried into a new generation.
May Allah (SWT) make our students faithful carriers of the guidance the Prophet (SAW) left behind. Ameen.
