The longing to be noticed is not a flaw. Allah placed it in us for a reason, and it points back to Him.
A toddler calls out, "Look at me!" A teenager checks how many people liked the photo. A graduate wants Dad to see the certificate. Different ages, same longing: to be noticed and remembered.
This is not a defect. It is part of how Allah (SWT) made us. Social media did not invent it, it simply feeds on it.
Where the Longing Should Go
No person can ever fill it. Praise fades, followers forget, and even the people we admired are mostly invisible to us today. The only One who always remembers is Allah:
فَٱذْكُرُونِىٓ أَذْكُرْكُمْ
"So remember Me; I will remember you." (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:152)
Notice that madhkur in 76:1, "worth mentioning", comes from the same root as dhikr. To be mentioned by Allah, we begin by mentioning Him.
Many young people quietly carry the feeling of being unseen. At DSQA we want every child to know that the Qur'an they carry in their hearts is noticed by the One who matters most.
Take Home
Ask a child in your home about something they did in secret for Allah, a short surah recited or a kind act. Let them see that it counts.
