The journey of guarding one's conduct finds its true foundation here, in the awareness that Allah (SWT) is always near, whether or not anyone else is watching. At Darus Saulieghien Quraan Academy, this awareness, muraqabah, is what we hope becomes second nature to our students long after they leave us.
He Knows What Is Hidden
Allah (SWT) says:
يَعْلَمُ خَآئِنَةَ ٱلْأَعْيُنِ وَمَا تُخْفِى ٱلصُّدُورُ
"He knows that which deceives the eyes and what the breasts conceal." (Surah Ghafir 40:19)
Nothing hidden from people is hidden from Allah (SWT), not a fleeting glance, not a private thought.
Ihsan: Worship as if You See Him
The Prophet (SAW) described this awareness directly: "Ihsan is to worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you cannot see Him, then know that He sees you." (Sahih Muslim 8) This is not meant to burden a believer with fear. It is meant to awaken reverence, a companionship with Allah (SWT) that is present in solitude as much as in public.
A Nightly Habit
We encourage our students to take a quiet moment before sleeping to reflect on their day and ask sincerely whether their choices honoured Allah's (SWT) presence, closing with a brief istighfar for any heedless moments. Small and consistent, this habit builds the watchful heart over time.
May Allah (SWT) grant our students a heart that remembers Him in private just as much as in public, and make that awareness a source of peace rather than fear. Ameen.
