Surah Al-Kafirun 109:4 and the hadith on consistent deeds - sincerity proven over time, not just in a moment.
Surah Al-Kafirun's fourth ayah repeats the refusal one more time, and at Darus Saulieghien Quraan Academy we use this repetition to talk to our students about a quieter kind of sincerity: staying consistent when no one is testing you dramatically, just wearing you down slowly.
Firm, Not Just in the Moment
وَلَآ أَنَا۠ عَابِدٌ مَّا عَبَدتُّمْ
"Nor will I be a worshipper of what you worship." (Surah Al-Kafirun 109:4)
The Qur'an elsewhere commands: "So remain steadfast as you have been commanded" (Surah Hud 11:112), and the Prophet (SAW) taught what Allah (SWT) loves most: "The most beloved deeds to Allah are those that are consistent, even if they are small." (Sahih al-Bukhari 6465)
What Consistency Looks Like in Hifz
A student's sincerity is not proven on the days revision feels exciting. It is proven on the ordinary days, the tired ones, the ones with no particular motivation attached. We remind our students that small, steady consistency in worship and revision outweighs occasional bursts of enthusiasm that fade.
May Allah (SWT) make our students among those whose faith and effort remain steady, in ease and in difficulty alike. Ameen.
