At the end of Surah Al-Insan, the people of Jannah are dressed up and told their effort was appreciated. This is the answer to our longing to be remembered.
Towards the end of Surah Al-Insan, Allah (SWT) describes the people of Jannah dressed in fine silk and wearing bracelets, and their Lord gives them a pure drink (76:21). We dress up for a special occasion, and this is the greatest one: meeting Allah.
Then comes the line every tired heart is waiting to hear:
إِنَّ هَٰذَا كَانَ لَكُمْ جَزَآءً وَكَانَ سَعْيُكُم مَّشْكُورًا
"Indeed, this is your reward, and your effort has been appreciated." (Surah Al-Insan 76:22)
The Remembering That Lasts
Notice the word mashkur, "appreciated", comes from shukr, thanks. In Part 3 we were asked to be shakir, grateful. In the end it is Allah who thanks us.
We began this series with a human who was not even mentioned, and we end with a human whose effort is acknowledged by Allah Himself. Ibrahim (AS) stood alone in a desert with no one recording a word, yet we remember his legacy every Hajj season.
At DSQA, every page memorised and every sincere effort is seen by Allah. May He accept it from our students, teachers, and parents. Ameen.
Take Home
Before big decisions, ask: how will Allah remember this?
