A Book Without Crookedness
ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ عَلَىٰ عَبْدِهِ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَلَمْ يَجْعَل لَّهُۥ عِوَجَا ۜ
"[All] praise is [due] to Allāh, who has sent down upon His Servant [Muḥammad (ﷺ)] the Book and has not made therein any deviance." (Al-Kahf 18:1)
Allah (SWT) begins by describing the Qur'an as a book with "no crookedness in it," revealed to His servant. In a world of shifting narratives and unstable promises, that single description matters. The Qur'an does not bend with trends or opinion; it stands as a fixed, straight path in words.
Notice, too, that Allah (SWT) calls the Prophet (SAW) "His servant" before any other title. Before Messenger, before leader, comes servant. True honour lies not in being followed by people but in belonging to Allah (SWT).
Your Duty Is to Convey, Not to Control Outcomes
Allah (SWT) also reassures the Prophet (SAW), who grieved deeply over people's rejection of his message: his responsibility was to convey, not to carry the weight of every person's choice. That is a relief for any believer who has called a friend or family member back to faith and watched them turn away.
The Prophet (SAW) said, "Whoever recites Surah Al-Kahf on Friday, a light will shine for him between this Friday and the next." (Sunan al-Bayhaqi 5996)
A Weekly Habit With Real Weight
We encourage our students to treat this Friday recitation as more than routine, to actually read the meaning, not just the words, and to ask Allah (SWT) for the light and protection this surah promises.
