Covid Protocols

Below is what we have put in place in terms of COVID protocols at our madrassah since physically opening.

Precautionary measures:

  1. All parents will be sent a screening questionnaire that is to be filled in before learners enter the premises. https://dsqa.co.za/covid-risk-assessment/
  2. The above questionnaire is to be completed weekly on Sunday before the new school week the following day i.e. Monday.
  3. Parents are to STRICTLY adhere to the school hours. Students are to arrive and leave on time to ensure they do not spend unnecessary time on the premises.
  4. Students are to sanitize at the entrance.
  5. Desks, benches and toilets will be sanitized before and after class hours.
  6. Designated seats will be assigned to each student where they will remain socially distant from each other at all times.
  7. Masks/shields/nibaaq must be worn at all times.
  8. Every student should bring along their own sanitizer, wudhu towel and toilet paper.
  9. No food or drink can be shared with others.
  10. If any student/teacher has been in contact with the virus they will be requested to stay at home and self-isolate for 10 – 14 days.
  11. If any student/teacher/staff shows symptoms of the virus, they will have to stay home until fully recovered – no exceptions.
  12. Online classes will be available for those who are unable to attend due to health issues.
  13. In the case of exams/tests, students will be allowed to write at deferred dates should they have to stay home.
  14. Procedures to follow when a staff member or student arrives at school unwell or becomes unwell whilst at school:
  15. Anyone who develops symptoms compatible with COVID-19 during the day must be isolated in a designated room, away from other learners and staff until they leave the school. This should be arranged ASAP.
  16. A family member will be phoned and arrangements must be made for this person to
  17. be taken directly to the nearest testing facility.
  18. If it is a child, they will be supervised by a staff member wearing appropriate
  19. Protective equipment (mask, face shield, plastic apron and gloves).
  20. The room/space will have to be aired and disinfected once the person has left
