Code of Conduct for Students

All students at DSQA are expected to uphold these standards of behaviour and character.

Respect & Character

  • Address teachers, staff, and peers with respect at all times.
  • No disrespect, back-talking, or speaking in a derogatory manner to anyone.
  • No gossip (gheeba), slander, or idle talk that could harm another's reputation.
  • Use appropriate, clean language at all times on and off school premises.

Dress Code

  • Boys: school uniform with fez or turban. No logos, badges, or jewellery.
  • Girls: school uniform with proper hijab covering hair and neck. No logos or jewellery.
  • Uniforms must be clean, ironed, and worn correctly every day.
  • Clothing must be loose-fitting and modest at all times.

Academic Standards

  • Arrive on time. Punctuality is a reflection of respect for teachers and peers.
  • Complete all homework and assignments before the deadline.
  • No cheating, plagiarism, or copying of another student's work.
  • Participate actively and honestly in all assessments.

Classroom Conduct

  • Give your full attention to the teacher during lessons.
  • Do not disrupt the class by talking, making noise, or using devices.
  • Care for school property - no vandalism, graffiti, or wilful damage.
  • Request permission before leaving your seat or the classroom.

Technology Use

  • No mobile phones or personal devices on school premises without explicit teacher permission.
  • Any permitted device use must be for educational purposes only.
  • Violations may result in device confiscation and parental notification.

Parental Involvement

  • Parents are expected to monitor attendance and ensure punctuality.
  • Attendance at parent-teacher meetings and school events is strongly encouraged.
  • Parents must inform the school promptly of any absences or issues at home affecting the student.

Discipline Procedure

  • Step 1: Verbal warning from teacher.
  • Step 2: Written warning - parent notified.
  • Step 3: Suspension pending parent meeting.
  • Step 4: Expulsion (reserved for serious or repeated violations).

Community Engagement

  • Students are encouraged to participate in school community events and volunteer initiatives.
  • Being part of the DSQA community is an honour - conduct yourself as an ambassador of the school at all times.
